D585 Pro Series

AI-Native Vision for robots.

The D585 is not an incremental update. It is a platform reset — and the foundation of RealSense’s AI-Native vision systems.

HARDWARE

Ready for your next project.

The D585’s combination of close-range precision, long-range coverage, high frame rate, dual RGB, and indoor/outdoor performance makes it the first single camera platform that spans the full robotics and industrial vision stack.

Get 2.5x closer than the competition.

12cm minimum range at full resolution — the best close-range performance in the industry. For cobot arms, shelf inspection, and bin picking, that gap is disqualifying for every other camera on the market.

2x better depth. Across the entire FOV.

Not just at the center. The new depth engine and dual projectors deliver 5x better quality than the prior RealSense generation across the full 120×100° field of view — finer details, 2x better noise reduction with smaller detail visibility, and dramatically less temporal flickering.

Full resolution. Full speed.

60 FPS at 1280×960 — double the frame rate of 30 FPS class competitors. For fast-moving robots and high-speed conveyors, that’s a tracking requirement, not a feature checkbox.

75% less bandwidth. Zero compromise on quality.

Depth Compression is on-camera active noise reduction that condenses a 2×2-pixel block into a single-precision depth datapoint, reducing depth-stream bandwidth by 75% with no loss of detail or accuracy. For bandwidth-constrained deployments and continuous high-frame-rate streaming, Depth Compression removes a critical infrastructure bottleneck without sacrificing depth quality.

SOFTWARE

The Perception Studio for Physical AI.

A continuous-release program delivering early access to next-generation perception capabilities built on RealSense depth cameras. Iterate fast. Ship faster. Early access to beta features, including enhanced close-range performance, visual-inertial odometry, and person detection – executed on host with RealSense SDK2.0. Registration required.

Built for Robots

The D585 is built on an entirely new foundation — a gen 5 SoC with a new depth engine, ISP, DSP, and quad-core ARM processor, plus new dual projectors and new high-resolution sensors. The result is 5x better depth quality across the entire field of view compared to the current RealSense generation, 2x better noise reduction with finer detail preservation, and a 120×100° FOV at 60 FPS — double the frame rate of 30 FPS class competitors.

On close-range performance, the D585 reaches from 12 cm minimum range at full resolution — 2.5x better than the nearest competition — making it viable for cobot arm integration and inspection workflows that other cameras simply can’t cover. And it extends to 10m and beyond, covering the full range AMRs need for navigation at scale. Built-in IR filters deliver consistent performance indoors and outdoors, with no lighting configuration required.

It also ships with depth compression capability, RealSense’s on-camera active noise reduction that reduces depth stream bandwidth by 75% — collapsing four pixels into a single high-quality depth datapoint — without sacrificing detail or accuracy. On-camera person detection ships in beta at launch, with VIO, compression, occupancy grid, and enhanced depth on the roadmap, all delivered to existing hardware via SDK.

The vision system Physical AI has been waiting for.

Humanoid robots and AMRs demand simultaneous color and depth awareness for manipulation, navigation, and human interaction — all in a single compact sensor. The D585’s dual RGB mode delivers 30 FPS RGB and 30 FPS depth simultaneously at full resolution, merged on-camera. The 120×100° FOV matches the wide peripheral awareness humanoids need, and allow for both full autonomy and tele-operation. The 12cm Min-Z handles close-range hand and object interaction. IP65 and built-in IR filters ensure the same camera works indoors on a factory floor and outdoors on a logistics dock.

The range your fleet needs. The speed your routes demand.

The D436 combines the D430 wide-FOV depth module with a synchronized, global-shutter RGB sensor whose field of view closely matches the depth sensors. That gives perception systems more consistent RGB-D information in dynamic environments, reducing the disparity between what the color camera sees and what the depth system measures. D436 provides up to 1280 × 800 RGB at 60 fps, with approximately 90° × 65° RGB FOV.

Precision depth at the tip of the arm.

Inspection on cobot and industrial arms requires extreme close-range accuracy — detecting surface defects, measuring tolerances, and verifying assembly at distances traditional cameras can’t resolve. The D585’s 12cm Min-Z at full resolution, 5x depth quality improvement, and 2x noise reduction deliver the spatial precision arm-mounted inspection demands and competes with cameras that cost 10x the D585. The 60 FPS frame rate supports inspection during motion, not just at rest. IP65 and lighting immunity handle the harsh, variable conditions of industrial arm environments.

Fast lines. No missed frames.

Assembly line and conveyor inspection is a frame rate problem as much as a depth quality problem. Parts move fast. Defects are small. Lighting is inconsistent. The D585 addresses all three: 60 FPS at 1280×960 captures fast-moving objects without motion blur, 5x depth quality and 2x noise reduction resolve fine surface features and sub-millimeter anomalies, and built-in IR filters maintain consistent performance under the mixed and variable lighting typical of production environments. Depth Compression reduces the bandwidth load of continuous high-frame-rate streaming without sacrificing detail..

The Vision System Physical AI Has Been Waiting For

Physical AI depends on more than seeing an image. Robots need 3D geometry, motion awareness and spatial context to understand where objects are, how the environment is changing and how to act within it. The D430 Series provides a common depth platform that can move with a product from development into deployment: from compact USB cameras for prototyping and robotics, to modules for embedded designs and GMSL for industrial integration. The same RealSense SDK 2.0 ecosystem supports the platform across configurations.

Dual RGB Mode

One camera. Two streams. Zero host overhead.

30 FPS RGB and 30 FPS depth simultaneously, merged on-camera at up to 1280×960. No host CPU cost. No sync headaches. Ready for humanoid robots requiring simultaneous visual and depth awareness, inspection pipelines, digital twins, and any workflow that needs aligned color-depth output.

Field of View

See more. Miss less.

120×100° field of view — wide enough for vSLAM, whole-scene awareness, and the kind of environmental context that narrow-FOV cameras leave out entirely. Combined with 10m+ range, it’s the right geometry for AMR navigation at warehouse and factory scale.

Indoor / Outdoor Performance

One camera. Any environment.

Built-in IR filters deliver consistent depth performance in bright outdoor sunlight and low-light indoor environments alike. No configuration changes. No auxiliary hardware. The D585 qualifies for deployment across the full range of real-world operating conditions — from factory floors and loading docks to outdoor logistics and agricultural robotics.
